End of the year letter to our Graduates

Date: May 21, 2014 Author: Kendra Hall Categories: Mrs. Jodi's Blog

At the beginning of the school year, I studied your face eager to learn and call you by name on the first day of school.  Now when I see a photo of you I hear your laughter and remember fondly a conversation we have recently shared.

At the beginning of the year, you wore a name tag as I learned to match your face with your name.  Now long before I see your face, I can sense your approach by the sound of your footsteps or the whisper of your voice.

At the beginning of the year, I could see that behind your sparkling eyes, you were keen to learn but I didn’t know how to ignite that spark.  Now I know what motivates you, your favorite way to learn, how to encourage you and what frustrates you most.

There is so much I know about you now.  Who your best friend is, what you like to do on the weekend, your favorite book, color, sport and food.  At the beginning of the year I couldn’t have possibly known these things by just looking at your photo.  Now it’s hard to remember a time I didn’t know such important details about your life.  This year it has been an absolute pleasure having you a part of my everyday and my great privilege to have been part of yours.

Thank you for giving a special piece of yourself to me and touching my heart.  You will go on to do great, be great, and share that greatness to our future.  Thank you for allowing me to be part of that journey.
